Accessibility statement
This accessibility statement applies to the bluesource website – app development for banks, retail, and business.
bluesource - mobile solutions gmbh strives to make its online presence at bluesource - App Development for Banks, Retail, and Business accessible in accordance with the Accessibility Act (BaFG) and the applicable (standard) requirements for barrier-free access to websites and mobile applications.
Compliance status
Our website complies with the requirements of conformance level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 in accordance with European Standard EN 301 549. This is based on the Federal Act on Accessibility Requirements for Products and Services (BaFG), which is based on Directive (EU) 2019/882 – European Accessibility Act (EAA).
The barriers described below relate to individual aspects of the four basic principles of accessibility. At the same time, important measures have already been implemented to enable barrier-free use:
Perceptibility
What still needs improvement:
- Individual design elements such as decorative taglines or faintly colored text may have too low a contrast ratio.
- In the case of duplicate image variants (e.g., customer logos), redundant alt text could confuse screen reader users—we are currently reviewing which images should be marked as decorative.
What already works well:
- The website uses high-contrast colors that generally meet the minimum contrast requirements.
- The layout is fully responsive and adapts to different screen sizes.
- Most visual content is provided with alternative text that is also easily accessible for screen readers.
Usability
What will be improved:
- There is currently no “Skip to Content” link to jump directly to the main content.
- The usability of individual icons and menu items (e.g., mobile navigation) will be optimized to ensure full keyboard support.
What already works well:
- Navigation and main functions can be operated entirely via keyboard.
- The focus order is logical and comprehensible.
- Content can be enlarged up to 200% without the need for horizontal scrolling.
Comprehensibility
What still needs improvement:
- On the home page and occasionally on subpages, heading hierarchies are not entirely correct (e.g., multiple H1 elements or skipped levels).
- Individual form input fields should be explicitly labeled to be screen reader-compatible.
What already works well:
- The texts are mostly clear, factual, and tailored to the target audience.
- The navigation is consistent and intuitive to use.
Robustness
What still needs improvement:
- Some standard-compliant ARIA roles are missing, or there are compatibility issues with screen readers, especially in forms.
What already works well:
- The website is based on modern, semantically largely correct HTML5 technologies.
- The source code is valid and supports future accessible development.
Non-accessible content
We are continuously working to make our website accessible. During the most recent review, several areas were identified that still require optimization:
- No skip link: A visible skip link to bypass navigation is currently missing (non-compliance with WCAG 2.4.1).
Action: Such a link will be added shortly. - ARIA labels for icons: Some graphical controls (e.g., social media icons in the footer) are not sufficiently labeled for screen readers (WCAG 1.1.1/4.1.2).
Action: The icons will be given unique aria-label attributes. - Heading structure: On some pages, heading levels are not consistently structured in a logical manner (e.g., multiple H1, missing H3).
Action: The HTML structure will be revised. - Contact form: The contact form is JavaScript-based and cannot be used if JS is disabled.
Alternative: Contact can be made at any time via the contact email address. - Color contrasts: Individual text areas and hover states are currently being checked for sufficient contrast.
Action: Adjustment to a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1.
We are continuously working to improve the accessibility of our website. To this end, we regularly conduct tests to ensure that current standards for web accessibility are met.
Creation of the accessibility statement
This statement was created on August 13, 2025. The statement is based on a self-assessment carried out by means of an internal audit using accessibility testing tools, as well as expert reviews by third parties.
