All of this makes the Apo app of the Austrian National Pharmacy Association one of the most popular health related apps in Austria.
Awarded with the 2018 eAward
The „Apo-App Apotheken und Medikamente“ of the Austrian National Pharmacy Association was awarded at the 2018 eAward. The prize confirmed that the app is one of the most innovative and future oriented digital projects in Austria.
Health information
In the personal section “medicaments” users create their lists of medicaments and intake information for which they can set reminders. In “Daily logs” users can save and document their blood pressure, the levels of blood sugar, their weight. With the digital vaccination certificate users always have their vaccination information at hand, along with reminders when vaccine refreshments are due. Moreover, users can also stay informed about available vaccines and the official recommendations from the Ministry of Health.
Multiple profiles and overview of medications
The Apo-app does not only manage information about the users. Since the latest new app relaunch users can now manage vaccinations and medicaments for other users as well. This allows e.g. to keep track of vaccine related information about children and/ or loved ones who need particular care.
Accessibility
Better contrast, font size as well as the optimization of Apple VoiceOver and Google TalkBack provide a wide range of accessibility to the Apo-app. A lot of input came directly from users and from the Hilfsgemeinschaft der Blinden und Sehschwachen Österreichs - the Association in support of the blind and visually impaired in Austria.
Specifically developed back-end
All data displayed in the Apo-app come as raw data from different sources. Therefore, to ensure an optimal performance the back-end was developed specifically for the app. This processes different types of data (particular opening hours or night pharmacy services), medicaments information and package inserts and bundles them in one flow of data.
